- Part-Time 0.4 FTE Ipswich
- Part-Time 0.2 FTE Springfield
This role offers more than just clinical responsibilities—it's an opportunity to become a trusted advocate and care coordinator for men navigating prostate cancer. You'll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering exceptional, personalised supportive care in the West Moreton region.

As a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, you'll collaborate across healthcare sectors—including non-government organisations—to ensure continuity, quality, and compassionate care. Your interventions will be tailored to each patient's needs, emphasizing evidence-based, seamless support.
This self-directed role encourages interdisciplinary collaboration across primary, secondary, and tertiary health services. You'll also have opportunities to shape innovative care models and represent Icon at forums and meetings locally and interstate.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced, patient-centred care and support for men with prostate cancer, including assessments, needs triage, care coordination, follow-ups, and clinical trial opportunities.
- Act as a clinical resource, mentor, and technical expert in prostate cancer care, including leading education programs.
- Drive innovation and service development across cancer care, surgery, and perioperative services.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to data collection relevant to prostate cancer care.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Advanced clinical skills in cancer or urological nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to quality improvement and best practice
Desired:
- Postgraduate qualification (completed or in progress)
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience
- Significant experience in prostate cancer, urology, or oncology nursing
- Experience in pelvic floor education and penile rehabilitation
- Experience in patient education
- Competence in relevant clinical IT systems
