Overview
Queensland Police Service, through Argos, maintains a highly specialised Victim Identification capability tasked with identifying children who are the subject of sexual abuse and targeting the offenders who harm them, through the detection and analysis of material depicting these crimes.
This work is exacting, confronting and high-stakes: you will join a small and dedicated team of internationally recognised specialists united by a clear purpose: to find children who cannot call for help and to stop those who exploit them.

Your Key Accountabilities
* Respond to calls for service relating to the identification and location of child abuse victims.
* Provide a high level of service, technical expertise, training support and advice for service-wide child abuse victim identification strategies.
* Identify and assist with the implementation of business improvement processes to enhance the organisational response to child abuse victim identification.
* Liaise, consult and negotiate with members of the Queensland Police Service, the legal profession, government agencies and the domestic and international law enforcement communities towards the establishment of effective working relationships and achievement of desired policing outcomes.
* Act as a local point of presence for the International Child Sexual Exploitation (ICSE) database and the international network of child victim identification specialists.
* Identify environmental factors affecting the work area and actively contribute to the development and provision of legal research, argument, submission, opinion and advice.
* Monitor and research a variety of online protocols and platforms used in the exchange of child exploitation material.
* Liaise with technical specialists and investigators to facilitate the efficient forensic examination of seized storage media and recording devices.
* Cooperate with police personnel and utilise all available technology solutions to maximise use of resources, particularly in the receipt, organisation and analysis of large amounts of data.
* Foster a working environment that encourages teamwork and empowers staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results; while maintaining personal responsibility for psychological welfare and supporting other team members.
Role Requirements
* The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.
* Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature including digital media containing graphic images of serious sexual abuse of child victims between 0-16 years.
* The successful applicant/s will be required to perform duty within any Group/Unit and location within the Brisbane Metropolitan area where CC conducts business.
* Currently hold or have an ability to obtain Negative Vetting status relevant to the specific role.
Applications will remain current for 12 months.
