Job Title: IT Infrastructure Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Infrastructure Specialist.
This role involves administering, maintaining, and enhancing hybrid infrastructure platforms, including Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, Citrix, and VMware technologies.
The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing existing systems, implementing automation, and ensuring the reliability and security of infrastructure supporting essential public services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Infrastructure Administration: Administer and maintain Windows Server and Red Hat Linux environments.
* System Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and resolve issues to ensure high availability.
* Upgrade Planning and Execution: Lead system upgrades, patching, and security updates in accordance with policy.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with application support teams to develop and execute upgrade plans.
* Automation: Standardize build procedures using templated images and automation tools (e.g., MECM, MDT, PowerCLI).
* Virtual Machine Migration: Assist with virtual machine migrations and hardware transitions.
* On-Call Duties: Participate in a 24x7 support roster for critical infrastructure (on-call duties required).
Essential Requirements:
* Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Experience: Demonstrated experience in Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
* VMware vSphere and vCenter Automation: Proven capability in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi automation.
* Citrix Technologies: Practical experience with Citrix technologies including Studio, Director, and NetScaler Gateway.
* Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or PowerCLI).
* Deployment Frameworks: Familiarity with MECM/SCCM or equivalent deployment frameworks.
* Infrastructure Uplift Experience: Experience delivering infrastructure uplift in enterprise or government settings.
Desirable Attributes:
* Security and Compliance: Exposure to ISO27001 controls, Essential Eight maturity models, or ITIL-aligned operations.
* Regulated Environments: Experience in regulated, SLA-based, or cost-recovery environments.
* Secure Build Baselines: Understanding of secure build baselines, patching, and monitoring practices.
