Our Client, a Toowoomba-based
**Employer of Choice** in the Not-for-Profit sector, is seeking a full-time
**Receptionist/Intake Officer **to join their growing team for a 12 month contract. This is a busy, client-facing position so it essential that applicants for this opportunity have a strong customer focus and a commitment to providing a quality service to vulnerable people.
The Receptionist/Intake Officer will gather information from clients and work with them to understand their issues and rights, and will identify, prioritise and action client's support needs through referrals to in-house and/or external services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting clients and visitors to the office and answering and referring incoming phones calls
- Providing effective intake services through telephone and face to face services
- Ensuring clients are supported in their engagement with the service by obtaining sufficient initial information to identify client needs
- Evaluating client's circumstances to expedite service delivery and ensure urgent referral action
- Completing opening and closing procedures for the Reception area
- Fielding walk-in enquiries from the public
Applicants for this role should possess the following skills and experience:
- A demonstrated ability to engage with people who have complex vulnerabilities
- Exceptional customer service ability, including being able to deal with difficult clients
- High level diagnostic and problem-solving skills to accurately assess and address client needs
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role in a relevant industry or service
- Hold a current, unrestricted class QLD driver's licence
- Hold or be immediately eligible to obtain a Positive Notice for Working with Children and receive a positive notice from Disability Services Queensland
