ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you looking for a customer facing role that is not boring? Do you wish to combine your administrative and operational skills in a role that doesn’t sit in the office all day?
We have an opportunity open for a person, who prefers to work hands on – able to support customers, who are bringing and picking up our auction assets, move our assets and vehicles around, organise the administration for upcoming auctions and be the face of our auction yard in Mackay, QLD.
This is a full-time permanent position that blends Auction Administrator and Yardhand roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Administration & Front Desk Support
* Providing professional and responsive front desk support
* Completing timely and accurate auction-related administration including reporting, data entry, document formatting, and customer file management
* Supporting sales administration including invoice and payment entries, balance sheets, and payment reminders
* Answering and directing phone calls, distribution of mail
* Close cooperation with our Marketing team on organising auction related ads and prints
* Ensuring vehicle registrations are cancelled promptly after sale.
Yard & Auction Organisation
* Arranging yard layout to accommodate assets
* Organising and preparing vehicles, trucks, machinery, and general goods for auction
* Loading and unloading of stock
* Photographing and booking in cars, trucks, machinery and general goods
* Lotting, cataloguing, and inspecting assets for auction
* Organising dispatch of all sold goods
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A current manual driver’s licence is essential
* Forklift or other heavy vehicle licences is highly desirable but not essential
* Basic knowledge of trucks, machinery, cars, and plant is desirable, along with a mechanical aptitude.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Sound computer literacy including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with accurate data entry; willingness to learn and improve your administrative skills
* Ability to follow instructions and processes, strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Professional conduct, able to work both independently and in a team
* WHS awareness and commitment
The successful candidate will need to undergo National Police Check.
