A traineeship is an excellent way to achieve a nationally recognised qualification whilst working in a real job. Traineeships are available to anyone of working age. Becoming a trainee could be the best thing you ever do. You will earn a wage and work towards a qualification that could take you places. The successful candidate will undergo on-the-job training Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation (SIS30122) or Certificate IV in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation (SIS A dedicated ATC Work Smart Field Officer will assist you every step of the way. You will be able to contact your mentor when you need them, and they regularly visit you in the workplace.
The role:
This qualification will develop your practical skills and knowledge to undertake a range of tasks in a High School Physical Education Department.
Duties include:
* Assist and support Outdoor Ed staff to plan and attend camps and excursions.
* Assist PE teachers with planning, setup and delivery of lessons and programs
* Assist PE teachers with planning and execution of junior and interschool competitions.
* Assist and support teachers in the behavior management and supervision of students.
* Maintain, manage and stock take sports equipment
* Assist PE teachers with the administration of student's records and results.
* Attend scheduled staff meetings and department and school professional development events
About you:
The ideal candidates will be 2025 YR12 School Leavers who are highly motivated to pursue a career in Sport and Recreation, Physical Fitness or Physical Education and be willing to complete a Certificate III or IV in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation with the support and guidance of ATC Work Smart and the RTO Trainer.
The successful applicant will have:
* Completed year 12 with good results in general Maths and English
* A love of Sport and Physical Fitness in general while actively participating in their own preferred sport.
* Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
* Have an ability to work in a team environment or independently when required.
* Be confident in following professional boundaries and providing clear articulate instructions with students in line with the direction and guidance provided by teachers.
* An understanding and desire to actively show initiative and contribute in the workplace.
