Our Federal Government client is seeking a talented and driven person to contribute to the implementation of development engagement in the Pacific.
The role is expected to focus on:
* development program implementation and administration, including through AidWorks;
* procurement, budget and contract management;
* activity development, support and management;
* review and reporting on the funding stream and development program activities; and
* administrative and logistical support for the work unit.

Position summary
As a Development Program Officer, you will support the implementation of the APLP, supporting the Assistant Director (Development Program Manager) to deliver key program elements as detailed under 'Key Duties' below. ODA program management and AidWorks experience is highly desirable.
Key duties may include:
* supporting the implementation and administration of the Australia Pacific Leaders Program;
* supporting the Assistant Director (Development Program Manager) to deliver key program outcomes;
* establishing and supporting effective contract management processes, monitoring and tracking milestones and budget;
* supporting Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning workplan to ensure program effectiveness;
* supporting Implementing Services Provider contract management;
* secretariat support for governance mechanisms;
* supporting the administrative and logistical requirements of the work unit; and
* promoting a positive team culture where staff work collegiately with a shared sense of purpose and build capability within the team by coaching others and providing feedback.

We're looking for high-performing people with experience in program management relevant to the Pacific Strategy Branch's development operations.
Our ideal candidate will:
* have demonstrated knowledge in an area of focus relevant to the department as outlined under 'The Opportunity' above, plus an understanding of global affairs;
* have experience managing development programs;
* have experience with and understanding of procurement, contract and risk management processes;
* make decisions and recommendations using professional judgement and expertise in a complex environment, governed by the application of policies and best-practice principles;
* be capable of developing and managing complex relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area goals;
* have strong written and verbal communication skills;
* be capable of prioritising and managing tasks, operating under broad direction exercising independence, and escalating issues that may have an impact on the work area; and
* demonstrate the ability to contribute positively to a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusivity.
* AidWorks experience is highly desirable.
