Overview
Cheema Farms is a family-owned poultry business based in Beaudesert (QLD), 1 hour from Brisbane. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Farm Manager to manage one of our poultry farms. The poultry operation comprises 2 farms with 10 sheds and a total of 400,000 birds. Five sheds are 4 years old and five are well maintained, built in 2006. The farm is in excellent condition. The successful candidate will be compensated with an attractive salary package, including a company vehicle for work use and a well-maintained 7 bedroom house.
Responsibilities
* Lead by example in a team environment, setting clear expectations and overseeing the operations of the poultry farms.
* Manage a team of 3 other workers.
* Ensure the care and feeding of the birds, including animal welfare/husbandry, and manage day-to-day operations smoothly.
* Ventilation system monitoring and management of SKOV & Rotem.
* Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations and adhering to Company, RSPCA and client standards.
* Maintaining bio-security and quarantine to the highest standards.
* Maintain up-to-date records of production, inventory, and farm activities.
* General repairs & maintenance and operating machinery.
Requirements and Skills
* Proven experience in poultry management and a comprehensive understanding of poultry husbandry.
* Full Australian Work Rights.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of animal welfare standards, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.
* Proficient in record-keeping and data analysis.
* Trustworthy and professional person who can be relied upon and who can work in a team environment.
* Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
The Reward
In return for your efforts, you will receive the following:
Generous salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
