Materials Engineer – For Materials Engineer, Metallurgical Engineer or Materials Testing Engineer to deliver advanced materials testing and analysis solutions for an innovative defence technology leader. A permanent full-time role within a forward-thinking, secure, and technology-driven organisation.

About the Materials Engineer role

* Requires: Degree in materials engineering, materials science or similar with experience in materials testing and stress-corrosion-cracking (SCC) evaluation including fractographic and metallographic laboratory skills as the Materials Engineer.
* Salary guide: $90,000 to $120,000 per annum.
* Location: Inner Melbourne suburbs, Victoria.

* Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on current materials testing methodologies.
* Perform SCC tests using the rising-displacement method to assess material integrity under stress.
* Analyze test data meticulously to interpret results and identify material performance characteristics.
* Utilize fractographic and metallographic techniques to examine specimen microstructures and failure modes.
* Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing test findings and recommendations.
