Cloud Infrastructure Architect
The role of the Cloud Infrastructure Architect is to design a secure and efficient hybrid infrastructure environment that seamlessly integrates on-premises and cloud resources to support a gradual migration of workloads to Microsoft Azure, M365 and D365. The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will have a breadth of experience across a range of infrastructure technologies and platforms and a thorough understanding of Microsoft Azure hub and spoke architecture, landing zone design and associated security controls.
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect works closely with business stakeholders, security and product delivery teams to understand their requirements and translate these into robust, scalable, resilient architecture patterns that are reusable, compliant by design assets from the outset. Knowledge of on-premises, cloud computing, storage and networking are essential as this role designs and guides the implementation of the foundational infrastructure services that support business services and applications.
The team reports to the Head of Architecture in the Data, Technology and Security (DTS) division and is part of the Enterprise Architecture team that helps develop, communicate and implement enterprise technology change. We define technical standards, create target state architecture and build investable technology roadmaps. We also support large enterprise transformation initiatives by working with procurement, business stakeholders, projects and product delivery teams.
* Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts including IT strategy and roadmaps for the transition of workloads to cloud services and decommissioning of on-premises infrastructure.
* Provide architectural leadership and ensure alignment to our enterprise IT strategy across various projects and stakeholders.
* Design resilient scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions connecting on premise, Azure, M365 and D365 and Oracle ERP platforms.
* Design and implement security measures and compliance controls across the technical landscape, including network security, access management, and data protection, extending these considerations to integrated cloud services.
* Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure new technology services are delivered to APRA in a way that follows our standards, meets our security requirements and integrates with existing services.
* Work with product teams and procurement to evaluate and select emerging technology services to meet new business requirements and capabilities. Where necessary recommend adoption and deployment strategies.
* Create and maintain documentation and models for architectures, configurations, standards and best practices.
* Assist with the management and running of the architecture practice by streamlining internal processes and contributing to a positive, dynamic and innovative team culture.
