Mater Private Hospital is currently seeking an experienced** Patient Financial Liaison Officer **to join our Inpatient Finance Team at our South Brisbane campus.
The position is permanent full time Monday - Friday, with hours ranging from 700 - 1800 on a rotating roster.

**Salary: $43.31 (MCA Level 4) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging**
**$85,878 per annum plus superannuation and access to salary packaging**
The Patient Financial Liaison Officer is responsible for accurate billing/estimates for Private Patients whilst delivering exceptional customer service to Mater Staff, Health Practitioners, and the wider Health Community.
Your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Undertake Health Fund eligibility checks for all private patients wishing to utilize Private Health Insurance for their inpatient admission at the Mater Private Hospital
- Prepare cost estimates for private patients admitting to the Mater Private Hospital to ensure patients are aware of any out-of-pocket expenses.
- Ensure appropriate Informed Financial Consent paperwork is prepared for each private patient admission.
- Liaise with Patients, Internal Departments, Medical Consultants in relation to a patient's level of coverage.
- Always deliver exceptional Customer Service to internal and external clients
- Answer and respond to telephone enquiries from both patients and Medical Officer's Room's
- Discuss financial implications with patients/family members, explaining their options (Private/Public admission)

**About you**
To be successful, you will require:
- Previous Medical Billing and Health Fund experience
- Mid-level Technology/Computer use and knowledge/ability to learn new software
- Demonstrable knowledge of Health Funds legislation and guidelines
- Previous experience working in a Health-Related environment
