Our Team
Our industry leading Banking & Finance team in Sydney operate within our broader Corporate & Capital Markets line of business. They are a team of industry specialists led by partners James Mok and Leigh De Jong.
Our finance practice is widely recognised for its technical and commercial expertise and its ability to deliver practical, innovative solutions. Our finance specialists advise on a full range of corporate, real estate, project and structured finance transactions. We have great depth and breadth of experience advising national and multinational corporations, national and international banks, investment banks, other financial institutions and intermediaries and government organisations.
Our real estate finance practice is market-leading, having been consistently ranked as 'Tier 1' by Chambers & Partners. We are a strategic adviser to all of the major Australian banks, international banks, investment banks, non-bank lenders, debt funds, global sponsors, private equity houses, sovereign wealth funds, corporates, REITs and government agencies in respect of their most complex and strategic real estate finance and capital transactions.
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join the real estate finance team. You will be working on a broad range of real estate finance matters spanning secured and unsecured, syndicated, club and bilateral facilities, both cross-border and domestic. The practice includes real estate debt transactions, including large syndicated financing transactions, development finance and non-bank lending transactions (including traditional senior debt, unitranche, mezzanine debt and others). You will enjoy a fascinating variety of legal work as part of a collaborative national team.
You will be part of a close, supportive team working closely with Nicole Boustani and other leading real estate finance partners who will enable you to build your professional brand, team leadership and client skills.
More About You
We welcome applications from lawyers who have:
- 4 - 6 years' experience in real estate finance, gained within a reputable commercial law firm or professional services firm
- Strong technical drafting and communication skills
- Ability to assist clients with making difficult decisions
- A client focused mindset, a responsive manner and a demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry contacts
- A team player attitude, a collaborative method and collegial style, and the ability to mentor more junior lawyers in the group
