About the role
The Digital Editor is a hands-on lead content role with accountability for driving online page views, traffic referrals and social engagement for the brand, while supporting the brand's broader e-commerce goals via effective affiliate content production.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Editor and lead a team of content producers to ideate and execute a daily content plan that aligns with the above goals and overarching brand strategy.
Regular monitoring of the celebrity news cycle and the ability to respond quickly to content opportunities—both on the website, on socials and via EDM—are also required.
Strong eye-catching headlines, SEO expertise, and the ability to craft engaging content for web, search, and social media are crucial.
Responsibilities
Managing daily content plan for the site to meet traffic targets.
Ideating and executing omnichannel content ideas based on trend monitoring.
Delivering multiple SEO-optimised stories daily to a high standard within rolling deadlines.
Ensuring content tone, style and brand consistency.
Writing engaging online articles and editing team work across the site and social channels.
Overseeing EDM sends where necessary.
Implementing commercial brief responses and managing implementation responsibilities to meet promises.
Ensuring e-commerce (shoppable content) targets are met.
Leveraging analytics to develop new editorial ideas and amplification strategies that grow audience and achieve targets.
Skills and experience
4-6 years of experience writing celebrity content in digital media; fast-paced newsroom experience desirable.
Experience with content management systems, photo editing and analytic tools.
Strong understanding and experience managing social media platforms and communities.
Strong content ideation skills and ability to pivot and adapt for growth.
Proven SEO understanding.
Excellent headline-writing ability and eye for an angle.
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Basic understanding of commercial drivers for websites and digital sales processes.
Preferred experience with tools such as Conductor, Trackonomics, Google Analytics, Dash Hudson, Canva, WordPress, Monday.
