About the role
Support the provision of program/project delivery and associated tasks including coordination, and administration; contributing to the end-to-end delivery of activities and initiatives.
Day to day, you will:
* Coordinate and deliver the operational and administrative aspects of programs/projects and activities
* Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with a diverse range of local participants, local stakeholders, and other service providers on the Tiwi's
* Work with Wangatunga Strong Women (WSW) members and directors to ascertain immediate needs and vision for the group
* Consider specific training and supports that assist with understanding governance requirements and responsibilities of being an Aboriginal Corporation
* Formally engage expertise and support, externally and internally, which strengthens and advances the WSW's vision to independence
* Make recommendations for grants and funding opportunities that support the WSW's growing business
* Work closely with the Family Support Staff to strengthen the FSS and WSW partnership
* Travel to the Tiwi Islands semi-frequently, and as requested by the WSW
* Identify challenges and gaps within the newly formed corporation. Working with members to overcome any challenges and gaps by recommending professional and personal development and learning opportunities
* Recruit, support, and train volunteers, staff & stakeholders
* Ensure effective data collection and monitoring and evaluation of relevant activities to achieve strategic impact in accordance with the funding requirements
* Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and maintaining current knowledge, to support informed decision-making and planning
What you will bring
* Experience in the implementation, coordination and delivery of volunteer led programs/projects
* Ensuring best practice in community development approaches as the role works closely with community members and leaders
* A Two-Way Learning approach
* Mentoring and/or facilitation skills and experience
* The ability to change pace, pivot and reprioritize according to community needs
* Demonstrated analytical skills to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
* Experience working with volunteers/community members
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders
* Knowledge of community-based programs gained through experience, training or education
* A valid Working With Children Check (Ochre Card) or the ability to obtain one
