About The Role
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full potential? Join the Attendance Outreach team within the Support & Inclusion Division and contribute to improving school participation, engagement, and achievement across South Australia.
Role
As a Social Worker – Attendance Outreach, you will play a vital role in re-engaging students with persistent or complex attendance concerns—particularly those with additional functional needs, Aboriginal students, and children in care. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will:
* Collaborate closely with schools, preschools, families, and key agencies to address the diverse factors affecting student attendance.
* Provide professional advice, information, and strategies to school staff and parents, supporting students' return to regular learning.
* Support the development and implementation of a new outreach service model designed to reach students who are chronically absent and face complex barriers.
* Utilise data, evidence, and interdepartmental partnerships to guide effective interventions and operational decisions.
* Work alongside an Attendance Support Officer to proactively monitor, track, and follow up with students and their families.
* Receive professional guidance and support from a Senior Social Worker, ensuring continuous growth and impact in your work.

Qualifications
Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Desirable: Nil
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
AHP2 $91,785 - $106,330 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) + leave loading and applicable allowances.
