Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Board Member at Australian Disability, located in St Ives, NSW. The Board Member will be responsible for providing strategic direction, governance, and oversight to the organization. Day-to-day tasks include attending board meetings, participating in committee work, and contributing to decision-making processes to ensure the organization fulfills its mission and objectives. The successful candidate will represent the voices and experiences of people with disabilities, advocating for their rights and needs.
Qualifications
- Lived experience of disability, with a strong understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by people with disabilities
- Leadership and governance experience, including strategic planning and decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse board and staff
- Passion for social justice and advocacy for people with disabilities
- Relevant skilled experience or qualifications in fields such as social work, community development, or disability services is beneficial
