12 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 with a possible contract duration extension.
Time Fraction:
1.0 EFT (38 Hours per week with flexible hours).
Salary:
Outlined in the employment contract inclusive of base salary, motor vehicle and phone, with base salary to be negotiated dependent on experience and qualifications.
About Northern Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network Inc. (NMLLEN)
Northern Mallee LLEN is a not-for-profit organisation that works closely with schools, students, and industry to identify gaps in education, training and employment, provide advice on local and state-wide policy issues at both the strategic and operational level and broker cross sector partnerships to better support young people. Funded by the State Government, Northern Mallee LLEN is one of the 31 LLENs across Victoria that were established in 2001 with the objective of improving career pathways for young people.

Facilitating strategic partnerships with stakeholder groups, to improve outcomes in education, training, and employment for young people.
Role of the Position
The role focuses on school - industry engagement, work base learning coordination and strategic leadership to achieve Northern Mallee LLEN objectives. The School to Work Coordinator is to ensure that the shared goal for all stakeholders that work based learning is meaningful for secondary students and is beneficial for industry. It requires collaboration with stakeholders, oversight of staff, and compliance with Department of Education (DET) strategic direction as outlined under the School to Work Common Funding Agreement and performance framework.
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
2. Supervise and coordinate staff as directed by the Northern Mallee LLEN Workplace Framework.
3. Contribute to the development of Northern Mallee LLEN Policies and Procedures.
4. Prepare reports for Northern Mallee LLEN Executive Officer, Board and Finance and Strategy Sub-Committee.
5. Prepare reports for DET as detailed by the School to Work Common Funding Agreement and performance framework.
6. Other duties as requested by the Executive Officer.
7. Stakeholder Engagement & Program Delivery
8. Liaise with key stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor programs, projects and strategies aligned with Northern Mallee LLEN objectives.
9. Develop and deliver presentations to students, parents, industry, government agencies, peak bodies, and community organisations.
10. Contribute to Northern Mallee LLEN publications and platforms.
11. Work Placement Coordination & Compliance
12. Update, monitor and maintain the DET State-wide School Employer Engagement Portal with work placements and events; complete event surveys per DET contract requirements.
13. Train in line with guides and resources participating school and Northern Mallee LLEN staff portal users of the School to Work Portal and provide timely updates.
14. Provide professional development about the School To Work Program to Northern Mallee LLEN staff.

16. Collaborate with NMLLEN staff and attend staff meetings to work as a team member.
Selection Criteria
Stakeholder Engagement and Industry Liaison
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with industry partners, Government, Catholic and Independent secondary schools and VET providers to support career education and vocational pathways for young people aged 12–19 years. This includes identifying regional skill needs and communicating these to stakeholders.
Project Management and Program Delivery
Proven experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring programs and projects within agreed timeframes, including the ability to meet compliance requirements under DET contracts.
Communication and Relationship Building
High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to deliver presentations to diverse audiences (students, parents, industry, and community groups) and maintain positive professional relationships across stakeholder sectors.
Knowledge of Regional Workforce Needs
Sound understanding of local and regional skills shortages, employer expectations, and workforce development trends within the Northern Mallee region.
Reporting and Data Management
Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, timely reports for boards, committees, and funding bodies, and maintain data integrity in systems such as the DET School Employer Engagement Portal.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Ability to work independently while providing oversight and support to team members, contributing to a collaborative and productive team environment.
Digital Literacy and Technology Proficiency
Proficiency in using information technology tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, communication platforms (Zoom, Webex, Teams), and proprietary systems for data management and reporting.
Experience
A minimum of three years' experience in business, education, training, career development or a related discipline.
Qualification
A Tertiary, Diploma or Certificate IV level qualification in business, education, training,
career development or a related discipline with relevant vocational industry experience is required.

Conditions of Employment
· A current Australian Drivers Licence is required and to be maintained during employment.
· A National Police Check is required with updates as instructed by the Executive Officer.
· A Working with Children Check, Employee status is required and to be maintained during employment.
· Participate annually in the performance appraisal process to establish performance objectives and KPI's ongoing.
· Company use of vehicle – adhering to the conditions and requirements of the Motor Vehicles (Use of Company Vehicle) Operating Procedure.
· Work across multiple worksites as required.
· The employment probation period will be three months from the commencement date.
