We are looking to expand our fleet of Truck Drivers in Darwin or Alice Springs to service a new contract commencing in early 2025 Located at Darwin or Alice Springs, we are seeking truck drivers with either a: Heavy Rigid (HR), Heavy Combination (HC) or Multiple Combination (MC) truck driving licence together with the required skills and experience. That's why, we are, Australia's Global Logistics People. About the role As a Truck Driver you will be required to undertake deliveries and pickups from the metropolitan and regional areas. Working under general direction, you will facilitate the safe and efficient pick-up and delivery, loading and unloading of all consignments. Where required, you will support other branch and logistics functions to ensure optimal operation of the broader Northline business. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all inbound/outbound freight is: Compliant with Chain of Responsibility including appropriate load restraint. Checked on truck against paperwork to ensure it matches. Compliant with legislative requirements with regards to load mass. Follow optimised route plans for pick up and deliveries provided by the Fleet Controller(s). Maintain radio or telephone contact with the Fleet Team to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location. Assist in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, when required. Maintain truck log according to state, federal and Northline regulations. Complete Driver Daily Run sheet completely and accurately each day, including recording freight / cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information. Maintain fleet management schedules through cleaning, inspecting, and servicing vehicle as required by Northline. Oversee all functions of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of freight. Ensure special permits and other documents required are held when transporting cargo on national routes. Where in accepted quantities or where licenced, transport hazardous products or dangerous goods. Any other reasonable tasks or projects as requested by your manager. Key Competencies & Technical Requirements specific to your role Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR), Heavy Combination (HC) or Multiple Combination (MC) Licence essential. Forklift Licence (LF) is highly regarded. Ability to demonstrate a good driver record/history. Ability, competency and experience to operate trucks you are licenced to drive in a safe and responsible manner. Commitment to Health, Safety & Environment practices. Integrity, trustworthiness, professionalism and a customer centric approach to problem solving. Suitable physical ability to handle repetitive lifting (manual handling) of freight up to 20kgs. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience working towards targets and deadlines. Good time management skills coupled with resilience and adaptability. Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised coupled with a proactive attitude. Good language, literacy and numeracy skills.
