As a Sustainability Consultant, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to integrate sustainable design principles into building, precinct and infrastructure projects.
This is a full-time role based in our Sydney office, working with our team of environmental designers across Australia as well as teams in our offices in Asia Pacific, UK, USA, and elsewhere.
We are looking for someone with Australian consulting experience in sustainability, including experience in environmental modelling and the application of green building rating and certification tools.
Who are we looking for?
You have a strong understanding of sustainable buildings, places and infrastructure with a keen interest in the application of analytical tools to drive design. You approach the practice of sustainable design with an interdisciplinary and whole‑of‑system perspective. You are highly collaborative in project team environments and are skilled at communicating complex ideas and making them accessible for others.
You are proactive, self‑motivated, a team player, and comfortable taking ownership of your work. You get excited about learning new things and enjoy sharing your skills and knowledge across the company. You are dedicated to professional service and are keen to develop new skills and services that contribute to design excellence. You generate enthusiasm for project sustainability ambitions with clients and the project design team. You have your colleagues' backs, and you bring smiles to their faces.
Your Responsibilities
* Develop sustainability assessments and green building certification processes (e.g., Green Star, NABERS, WELL, NatHERS and Living Building Challenge).
* Contribute, develop, and integrate sustainable design measures within buildings, places and infrastructure in Australia and overseas.
* Conduct technical environmental studies including daylight, energy, and thermal comfort analysis.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions.
* Prepare high quality sustainability reports and project documentation.
* Create visually compelling graphics to communicate complex concepts.
* Craft documents which simply and skilfully communicate sustainable design integration and compliance for planning submissions to maintain quality, timeliness, and co‑ordination of project deliverables.
About You
* Degree in Sustainable Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
* Experience with Australian sustainable building benchmarking tools, e.g. NABERS, Green Star, NatHERS.
* Experience and proficiency in other environmental analysis tools, e.g. Grasshopper, IES VE, or others.
* Experience scoping and managing technical analysis work, including interrogating results.
* A problem solver, with the ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively.
* Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Appropriate work visa status.
