The Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will support our engineers and project managers in the planning, design, and delivery of residential and commercial building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site sampling and testing of concrete, soil, masonry and other construction materials in line with construction standards, keeping accurate records of results.
Compile site measurements, material usage and progress data into tables and reports for use by engineers and project managers.
Assist in calculating material quantities, labour hours and project costs, and prepare estimates to support budgeting and procurement.
Support engineers with site measurements and set-out work, including levels, boundaries and service alignments, to ensure construction accuracy.
Inspect construction activities such as concrete pouring, formwork installation and drainage works to confirm compliance with construction standards and report any issues.
Record daily or weekly site progress, material consumption and quality observations, and prepare concise reports for management.
Follow up on construction issues identified on site and assist in implementing corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.
Communicate technical requirements between engineers, project managers and site crews, providing guidance on dimensions, materials and work processes.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in civil engineering, construction, or related fields
Building construction experience is essential for this position
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and standards
Practical problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
