Content Creator Assistant
role at
Sleeping Duck
.
About Sleeping Duck: We're a team of makers, doers, and innovators passionate about pushing creative boundaries. At Sleeping Duck, we combine science, storytelling, and design to deliver bold, engaging content that captures attention. Supported by top-tier creatives from the film and VFX industries, we're building a powerhouse in-house team – and we want you to be part of it.
The Role
We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Content Creator to support our in-house creative team across content production, post-production, and creative operations. You'll work closely with senior creatives and directors to bring ideas to life – from setting up gear on shoots to editing footage and supporting asset management and design updates. This is a rare opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-output creative team where you'll develop skills across video production, content creation, and creative support. Whether you're just starting your career or looking to build your folio alongside industry pros, this role is a chance to grow while doing great work.
Your Responsibilities
Video Production & Filming: Assist with setting up and operating production equipment (cameras, lighting, audio, grip gear); support shoot prep, including gear organisation and troubleshooting on set; capture footage for various formats (interviews, branded content, social media, etc.); work under the guidance of experienced directors who are committed to mentoring.
Post-Production Support: Perform assembly edits of interviews, case studies, branded content, social clips, and more; apply basic colour correction using LUTs or under direction from the post team; support with audio cleanup and enhancement (training provided if needed); manage media ingest, backups, file organisation, and version control under guidance; prepare final deliverables for web, social, or broadcast – following internal workflow.
Creative Assistant Tasks: Support the creative team with day-to-day operations and file management; source, organize, and manage visual assets (logos, fonts, templates, imagery); update templates with new content (copy, images, credits); assist with packaging files for delivery to internal and external stakeholders; provide hands-on support during production sprints or shoot days.
Light Design Work: Help assemble basic graphic layouts for presentations, internal documents, or events; occasionally assist with layout updates in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator; prep images and design assets for use in video and social content; open to learning or refining basic design skills — training and mentoring available.
Collaboration & Team Support: Work directly with our Creative Director, Art Director, Production Manager, and broader team; take direction, implement feedback, and iterate effectively; help maintain structured, well-organised creative workflows; contribute to a positive, supportive, and learning-focused team culture.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience with camera operation and video production
Familiarity with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
Interest in audio and post-production processes
Strong organisational and file management skills
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve during shoots
Bonus Skills
Experience with Blackmagic or Sony FX3/FX6 cinema cameras
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Experience with templated workflows and asset preparation
Previous work supporting a creative team or managing creative projects
The Kind Of Person We\'d Love To Work With
Enthusiastic about filming, editing, and making great content
Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to assist with creative housekeeping, asset organisation, and team support
Why Join Us
You'll be part of a highly collaborative creative team that's constantly producing and pushing the quality of our content. You'll get direct mentorship from industry-experienced directors and creatives, and have the chance to build your portfolio across a wide range of formats and styles.
