The Parliament of Tasmania offers an exciting and dynamic work environment for talented people. Parliament is a place where Members meet to make laws, authorise the expenditure of public funds, scrutinise the Government of the day and give a voice to their constituents in the electorates.
Based at Parliament House, the Clerk of the House of Assembly is responsible for the provision of high-level, authoritative, expert and complex non-political advice on all matters related to the functions of the House as well as oversight of the proceedings of Parliamentary Committees. The Clerk will ensure that the business of the House is conducted in accordance with the law and the practices and procedures of the House of Assembly. Other key responsibilities include the management of cost effective and efficient operations of the House of Assembly and Legislature-General and the provision of strategic leadership to ensure the achievement of the mission and corporate goals of the House of Assembly.
