Job Summary
The successful candidate will serve as the primary strategic business leader of the property. They are responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, including guest satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation. The goal is to deliver a return on investment to both Marriott International and property ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Verify implementation of service strategy and initiatives to meet or exceed guest expectations, increase profit, and market share.
* Hold property leadership team accountable for strategy execution and guide their individual professional development.
* Leverage sales engines and initiate independent sales activities to generate demand when appropriate.
* Align objectives and goals of Marriott and property owners to achieve brand positioning and success.
Business Strategy Development:
The ideal candidate will stay current with industry trends, monitor strengths and weaknesses of competition, explore new business opportunities, develop business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share, and ensure alignment with Marriott's global strategic plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 10+ years of progressive experience in the hotel industry, preferably with prior GM experience in similar-sized hotels.
* Australian market experience is preferred.
* Excellent skills in food & beverage, event management, rooms operations, revenue management, human resources, and quality assurance, including experience with strategic planning, budgeting, negotiating, and interpreting contracts, SOPs, and project management.
* Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrix organization and leverage centralized organizational resources.
* Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
