An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Physiotherapist to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.
You are responsible for delivering secure and effective clinical care that requires a higher level of clinical decision making that is relevant to physiotherapy practice. You practice and deliver physiotherapy across the acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community based settings within Portland. You support the development of clinical and leadership skills in staff placed under your responsibility and less experienced physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students.
Responsibilities
Deliver safe and effective physiotherapy care across multiple settings (acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, community).
About you
- Physiotherapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration, and holds current registration
- Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in specialty area of practice, or working towards
- Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in physiotherapy
- Demonstrated sound advanced clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Understanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolio

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:
- Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology
- A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment
- Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge

PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
