Fleet Officer and Driver Trainer - Shepparton
Community Accessability was founded in 1998 and is a not-for-profit organisation that provides transport services, community activities, and home-based care to enable the elderly and people with disabilities to maintain their independence and community inclusion.
About the role
The Fleet Officer and Driver Trainer plays a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the vehicle fleet and supporting the training and development of volunteer drivers across the organisation. The role ensures fleet safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while also delivering practical training, support, and ride-along assessments to build driver capability and confidence.
This role directly contributes to the delivery of safe and reliable transport services for clients, including occasional driving support, and works closely with operations and compliance teams to support WHS and service excellence.
What you'll do
1. Fleet operations including overseeing daily coordination of the organisation's fleet across all sites.
2. Schedule and manage vehicle servicing.
3. Inspect vehicles and maintain accurate maintenance records.
4. Provide onboarding and inductions to support volunteers.
5. Conduct ride-alongs, safety assessments, and reviews.
6. Provide occasional driver support to transport clients.
7. Assist clients with mobility needs as required.
8. Assist in reporting and compliance.
9. Ensure valid Australian Driver's Licence.
10. Demonstrated experience in a transport, automotive, or fleet management environment.
11. Experience delivering training, inductions, or safety briefings.
12. NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
13. Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
14. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain).
15. LR Licence (or willingness to obtain).
16. Experience working in aged care, disability, or community services transport.
