Headquartered in Adelaide, Journey Beyond formed in 2016 and now comprises tourism brands including iconic trains, premium small-group outback operators, eco-luxury lodges, and aquatic adventures.Joining the Journey Beyond family, you will play an integral role in supporting our business as we continue to share special places and shape lasting memories for our guests.About the roleReporting to the Maintenance Manager Operations, the Shore Based Engineer assists in the mechanical & electrical maintenance of vessels, pontoon, vehicles, tenders, outboards, air-conditioning, refrigeration, lighting, davits, and lifting systems. Follow scheduled maintenance programs, completing servicing as outlined and recording details for administration purposes.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Diagnose system problems if and when they occur.Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off.Adhere to SOPS, Marine Memos, operation procedures and WHS requirements.Follow the scheduled maintenance program for all mechanical, electrical, air control, and safety equipment on a regular basis on the vessels, tenders, pontoon, etc.Maintain main and auxiliary engines, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders (rams), water pumps, electric generators, lights, navigation systems, ventilation systems, underwater running gear, and any other mechanical, hydraulic, electrical gear on board.Maintain emergency generations, emergency steering, and firefighting systems to ensure compliance in line with legislation.Fault finding and additional repairs.About youThe successful candidate will be highly skilled and experienced with a strong marine diesel engine industry background. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. You will have strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
