Role Overview
The Australian and Queensland governments have jointly committed to a major initiative, the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP), a significant infrastructure project aimed at reducing crash severity and frequency.
Key objectives include:
* Reducing crash severity and frequency, particularly between Gympie and Cairns;
* Improving road safety through measures such as wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures;
* Completing the project by 2030.
As a Program Director, you will lead the delivery of the Fitzroy District's contribution to the BHTSP, approximately $2.5 billion of the $9 billion program.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading, managing, and coordinating a team of professionals to ensure all program, governance, and approval activities are undertaken in accordance with TMR requirements and industry best-practice;
* Representing the district on BHTSP specific technical, commercial, and contractual working groups and forums;
* Collaborating with the broader BHTSP teams across the state and the BHTSP PMO to ensure consistency of delivery and technical practices.
This is an opportunity to drive change and improve road safety outcomes through effective leadership and project delivery.
