Casual Opportunities Available

Health & Allied Services Agreement, $31.65 p/h (KG4) (excludes allowances)

Opportunities exist for enthusiastic and highly motivated applicants to join our busy hospital attendant team. A Hospital Attendant undertakes a range of duties and functions including patient transport, courier services, specialist and general cleaning and other relevant duties as required.

As we are recruiting for multiple casual positions used to backfill shifts, these roles do not include regular or guaranteed hours. Successful applicants must be available across a broad range of times, including daytime (7:15–15:00), afternoon (14:30–23:00), evening (16:00–20:00), and overnight shifts as required (23:00–07:00). Availability across seven days, including evenings and weekends, is essential, with additional hours offered as required.

Required skills and experience include:

* Responsible and mature work attitude.

* Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.

* Demonstrated ability to work under direction and supervision.

* Good communication skills.

* Demonstrated flexibility with duties being undertaken

* Ability to manage own workload, handling multiple tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.

* Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

* Attention to detail.

Desirable:

* Porter / Cleaning experience is desirable, but not essential.

* Previous experience within a hospital or health care environment would also be highly regarded.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a National Police Record Clearance and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
