Overview
Preparation/Laboratory Technician role at Bureau Veritas North America – Muswellbrook site. The focus of this role is using specialised equipment and performing manual handling tasks to prepare coal samples and laboratory testing. You will also be involved in the simulation of coal production processes in order to test the properties of coal samples.

Responsibilities
* Prepare coal samples using specialised equipment and perform laboratory testing.
* Conduct simulations of coal production processes to test properties of coal samples.
What's needed / Qualifications
* Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks.
* Previous laboratory or sample preparation experience in any field would be well regarded but is not essential.
* Certificate III or IV in Laboratory skills (preferred but not required).
* A methodical and well organised approach to work.
* Ability to pass an Order 43 Medical.
* Valid NSW driver's license.
* Would suit an applicant looking for a career change; transferrable skills from hospitality and retail areas.
* Ability to work shift work and weekend overtime is essential.
* Must be reliable and have good communication skills.
Safety
Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site. Live locally in the Newcastle region. NO FIFO.
