About the role
We're looking for a Project Engineer (Mechanical, Chemical or similar) to work closely with clients, managing capital installation works and process improvement projects from start to finish. Reporting to the South Australian Operations Manager, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to drive projects.
This role offers a balance between engineering design and project management, with the exact split tailored to your experience and career goals. It is a permanent, full-time position.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Model integrity, accountability, and respect
2. Complete projects from start to finish, with oversight and assistance from senior engineers or your manager where required. Define, track, and report on time, cost, and quality.
3. Apply sound engineering principles, knowledge, and judgment.
4. Complete design work using relevant regulations, codes of practice, Australian and international standards, as well as internal documentation and templates.
5. Use a structured, logical approach to project management and design, including accurate filing of information.
6. Provide clear direction to drafters and site contractors, and clear reporting to clients.
7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.
8. Develop strong, collaborative, and productive relationships within the team, with clients, suppliers, and throughout the industry.
9. Demonstrate a proactive attitude, focusing on client satisfaction.

Skills and experience
You should be a hands-on engineer with recent industry experience and strong networks.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of industry experience post-university.
* Recognized Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Pharmaceutical preferred), with CPEng and RPEQ highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and Australian standards.
* At least 3 years in engineering or production roles within food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics.
* Ability to manage your own work within time and budget constraints, and to delegate effectively.
* Practical experience, strong ethics, and hands-on involvement.
* Team-oriented with leadership qualities.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and MS Project is advantageous.
* Experience with Structural Mechanical Analysis (e.g., FEA, Space Gass) is desirable.
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, residing in or willing to relocate to South Australia, with the right to work in Australia.
* Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a team player attitude.
