Job Description
We are seeking a skilled data engineer to join our team in Brisbane. The purpose of this role is to deliver an evolving central data ecosystem, playing a significant part in the delivery of a shared cloud data platform to our organization, while maintaining the current demand on the existing data warehouse platforms.
Main Responsibilities
1. Delivering Technical Functionality: Develop and deploy technical solutions against the shared cloud data platform and existing warehouse platforms.
2. Data Pipeline Architecture: Design and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
3. Process Improvements: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements by automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
4. Data Products: Build the infrastructure and data products required for optimal extraction, loading, and transformation of data from a wide variety of data sources.
5. Data Support: Work with various stakeholders and teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
6. Data Security: Ensure sensitive data is separated and secure across national boundaries through well-architected data patterns.
7. Informative Visualizations: Design, develop, and implement informative visualizations that enable business decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years' experience working in the data space as a developer.
* Minimum 5 years' senior data engineer/senior BI developer/consultant experience in Azure/Dbx.
* Advanced SQL knowledge in relational databases with queries and performance tuning.
* Strong analytical skills, with experience performing root cause analysis on data processes to answer specific business questions.
* Successful engagement with business stakeholders for requirements, feedback, and advisory.
* Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
* Proven expertise in data engineering using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
