Sort Center Site Manager, Amazon Transport Services

We're seeking an experienced Site Manager to join and lead our Sortation Center Operations team in Craigieburn.

As a Site Manager, you'll be responsible for budget management, people development, and operational objectives. The Site Manager oversees all aspects of operations at the site, manages and leads a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaches and mentors the team, fosters positive employee relations, and develops leadership within the Sorting Center. The role also involves stakeholder management across Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, Safety, Loss Prevention, and Middle Mile teams.


Key responsibilities

* Oversee and improve all aspects of sortation operations, including safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of Inbound, Processing, ReLo, or Outbound operations.
* Lead sort center activities and coordinate staff plans and schedules.
* Hire and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, customer obsession, and engagement.
* Drive quality initiatives, process improvements, and Lean strategies to exceed business goals.
* Define expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold them accountable.
* Leverage ideas from Operations and Area Managers to improve the functional area.
* Share best practices across departments and shifts.
* Collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers to secure resources and support cross-functional initiatives.


Basic qualifications

* Experience in Logistics, Distribution, Transportation, or Warehouse Operations Management.
* Experience leading large, diverse teams.
* Employee and performance management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to analyze data, manage details, and conduct root cause analysis.
* Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.


Preferred qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related fields.
* Operational experience in a fast-growing industry.
* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
* Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
* Proven record of change management initiatives.
