About the Role
Reporting to the Administration Team, the Vehicle Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of NPYWC's fleet operations, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, cost‐effective and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities
* Managing vehicle acquisition, replacement, disposal and registration
* Coordinating repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance
* Managing vehicle insurance and claims
* Overseeing 4WD training arrangements for staff
* Monitoring vehicle compliance, safety and fleet performance
* Maintaining fleet records and reporting systems
* Providing advice on remote travel conditions, road closures and vehicle safety
* Building robust relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers
* Supporting organisational Work Health and Safety objectives through effective fleet management.
About You
* Experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, logistics, transport, operations or a similar role
* Strong organisational and time‐management skills
* Excellent communication and relationship‐building abilities
* Experience working with databases and computer systems
* The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
* Experience working in a cross‐cultural environment will be highly regarded.
Desirable
* Qualifications relevant to fleet, mechanical or automotive services
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* Experience delivering or coordinating 4WD training programs.
