This position is classified as a PACS Band 2 ($61,866 - $66,065 per annum, pro rata) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

About The Role
An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced Moorditj Kulungar Playgroup Assistant (50D) to join the Library Services team at the City of Kwinana. Reporting to the Library Programs Senior Team Leader, this fixed-term part-time position is responsible for collaborating with the Playleader/Aboriginal Support Worker to provide a culturally safe space for the Moorditj Kulungar Playgroup to learn, grow, and connect.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Ability to provide care for and engage with children.
* Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
* Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, and the ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
* Possession of a current Provide First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
* Possession of a current Working with Children Check, current Driver’s Licence, and a National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old).
* Understanding of early childhood development, including health, safety, and nutritional needs (desirable).
* Awareness of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (desirable).
* Previous experience working within an Aboriginal community (desirable).
* Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position under (Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984 ).
