Role Summary
As the Restaurant Supervisor at Piato, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, and leading the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service; coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during service hours; conduct pre-service briefings and provide clear communication of service expectations.
- Operational Management: Monitor and maintain restaurant standards, including cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance; manage inventory levels for front-of-house supplies and liaise with suppliers as needed; ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Greet and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction, address concerns promptly; manage reservations and oversee seating arrangements to optimize service flow; handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor daily financial transactions, including cash handling and POS system management; assist in tracking revenue and expenses to meet performance targets; provide input into pricing strategies and promotional activities.
- Wine and Beverage Service: Oversee the wine and beverage program, including staff training on pairings and service; ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate IV in Hospitality or equivalent (mandatory).
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time relevant supervisory experience (at least 20 hours per week).
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
