Information about the School
New Hall is a Catholic independent boarding & day school for girls and boys aged 1-18. It operates the 'diamond model', with co-educational classes from ages 1-11 and Sixth Form, and single-sex lessons from ages 11-16. This model allows tailored pastoral and academic support, reducing peer pressure and gender stereotyping, and providing a broad curriculum for all students.
The Sixth Form aims to broaden students' horizons academically and personally. From the moment students arrive at the school, they are given opportunities to grow, learn, and develop into confident individuals. Located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, Essex, just 30 minutes from London by train, the school is set in an idyllic, historic setting.
As a Catholic school, New Hall seeks to educate the whole person—academically, creatively, socially, and spiritually.
Safeguarding and Recruitment
