Security Engineering Practice Lead – Vulnerability Management (VM) & Network Detection & Response (NDR)

We are partnering with a leading Australian technology and cyber security provider to find a Security Engineering Practice Lead specialising in Vulnerability Management and Network Detection & Response.

This role blends strategy and hands‐on engineering at a 50/50 split, providing leadership for a high‐performing security engineering practice while engaging deeply with our clients.

What You'll Be Doing
* Define and shape the practice roadmap, services, and strategy
* Lead and mentor a team of security engineers
* Oversee solution design, delivery quality, and technical assurance
* Support pre‐sales and client engagements (workshops, proposals, solutioning)
* Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and R&D initiatives
* Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges
* Collaborate across cloud, data, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions
What You Bring
* 3‐5+ years in Security Engineering, ideally with VM/NDR focus
* Strong experience with tools such as:
* Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management
* CrowdStrike Exposure Management
* Tenable (and similar platforms)
* Exposure to SIEM platforms (e.g. Sentinel, CrowdStrike)
* Solid understanding of:
* Threat frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS)
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
* Windows & Linux environments
* Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) – highly regarded
* Excellent communication skills with a client‐facing mindset
