Job Details

Physiotherapist Level 3 – temporary part time, 16 hours per week, until June 2027.

Location: Armidale Hospital.

Remuneration: $116,892 – $120,680 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging + rural incentives.

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time – Until June 2027.

About The Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of newly arrived refugees within the community. In this varied role, you will work across inpatient and outpatient settings, run group programs and manage complex cases in partnership with the refugee health team. You will also support colleagues to deliver culturally responsive care to this population.

Where you'll be working

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dedicated Refugee Health Service in Armidale, designed to support the needs of a growing and diverse community. Based at Armidale Hospital, you will work as part of both the Refugee Health Service and the Physiotherapy Department, providing clinical care and leadership to improve health outcomes for refugee populations within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

About You

You are an experienced physiotherapist with a strong understanding of the complex health needs faced by refugees, including challenges related to language barriers and health literacy. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to culturally safe, person‐centred care. Working closely with Refugee Health Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to coordinated service delivery and improved health outcomes for this community.

Requirements

* Registered as a physiotherapist with current authority to practice with AHPRA.

Additional Information

* Based on a minimum 18‐month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part‐time and contract employees will be made on a pro‐rated basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. The increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.
* To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
