Position Summary
As Graduate Naval Architect, you will develop your naval architecture skills while supporting the design of some of the worlds most advanced battery electric ferry designs. You’ll work on a variety of tasks such as preparing statutory drawings and documents, stability simulations and reports, weight estimates and general arrangement drawing updates. Being part of a small team, you’ll also get exposure to other tasks and disciplines as part of your regular work.
Key Responsibilities
* Under guidance from senior staff prepare technical drawings, calculations and documents as required.
* With support from senior staff ensure work is well thought out, simplified where possible and the technical risk is identified and minimised.
* Ensure requirements for tasks is well understood and clear prior to undertaking.
* With guidance from senior staff, ensure own project work and service levels meet the required standards and specifications.
* Ensure submitted drawings meet specifications, client requirements are accurate and are delivered on time.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar.
* High level of computer literacy, including with common office applications and relevant design software (Maxsurf, AutoCAD, Rhino and CFD - desirable).
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with relevant stakeholders.
