Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking and Part-time Registered Nursing applicants to join our Surgical Ward team on Level 1.
You'll be based primarilyon our specialty vascular/cardiothoracic ward; however, you will have the ability to pick up shifts across the other ward areas as these become available, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills further.

We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospitalhas11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also havea cardiac suite includinga cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery isavailable for families in the Newcastle region.Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
AsRegistered Nurse (Vascular & Cardiothoracic) yourresponsibilities will include:
· Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislation
· Deliver evidence-based nursing care
· Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
· Ensure patient and staff safety
· Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
· Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
· Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies
· Current registration with AHPRA as aRegistered Nurse
· Current valid Australian Work rights
· Demonstrated experience working within an acute surgical setting
· Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.
· Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care
· Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
· Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness tolearn new skills.
· Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty
· Minimum of 2 years' relevant post registration qualifications
· Demonstrated exposure to Vascular / Cardiac nursing preferable

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses' and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024" (salaries range between $35.46 and $49.79 per hour).
