Exciting opportunity for experienced Communications Engineer to design, implement and support advanced wireless and fixed communications systems across a diverse project portfolio.
Working across the full lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning, optimisation and ongoing support, while collaborating closely with internal teams, clients and delivery partners.
The Role
The communications Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining reliable, secure and scalable communications networks that support both organisational and client requirements.
The role includes a mix of office-based engineering and field engineering, including commissioning and onsite acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse stakeholder requirements and develop fit-for-purpose communications solutions
* Design and implement wireless and fixed communications networks with a focus on performance, reliability and security
* Configure and integrate hardware and software components including routers, switches, servers and firewalls
* Test, commission and maintain communications systems to ensure performance standards are met
* Operate in a Field Engineering capacity, leading commissioning and onsite acceptance testing
* Monitor system performance, diagnose issues and implement upgrades and improvements
* Create and maintain design drawings, layouts and technical documentation
* Install, connect and troubleshoot system hardware and resolve equipment performance issues
* Provide technical support and training to internal teams and end users
* Support project delivery through coordination, verification and validation of design outputs
* Provide engineering input into tenders, proposals, budgets and risk assessments
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
* Identify delivery risks and propose mitigation strategies
* Contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused engineering culture
About You
You are a highly experienced Communications Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
You will ideally bring:
* 5+ years' experience in a Communications Engineering role
* Extensive experience designing and implementing wireless and fixed telecommunications systems
* Strong grounding in engineering principles, mathematics and system analysis
* Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* Tertiary qualification in Communications, Electronic or Electrical Engineering
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Full Australian working rights
* Current C-Class Driver's Licence
