An opportunity exists for an experienced Mine Site Accountant to join a site-based finance team supporting a large mining operation in Central Queensland. This role suits someone who enjoys working closely with operations and adding value through strong financial insight.
Site-based role with strong operational exposure and hands-on cost control
9-day fortnight (5/2:4/3) with FIFO, DIDO or residential options in Central QLD
Salary $120K-$140K+super
About the role
Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, you will support site performance through accurate reporting, cost analysis, and strong partnering with operational leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
Month-end site accounting inputs
Cost reporting, analysis, and variance commentary
Partnering with department leaders on cost control
Supporting forecasts, budgets, and performance reporting
Assisting with audits, capital forecasting, and capitalisation
Supporting cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
About you You will ideally have:
2+ years' mine site accounting experience
Accounting qualification (CPA/CA), or working towards
Strong Excel skills and SAP experience
High attention to detail and analytical capability
Ability to communicate effectively with operational stakeholders
