**About the position**
The Helpdesk Officer will assist the Information Services Manager in the delivery of IT Services to Council and the Community. There is a requirement for this role to be onsite and to travel to Muswellbrook Shire Council sites.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Assist with setup and maintenance of meeting rooms, AV equipment, and other IT infrastructure
- Co-ordinate the procurement of Council Information Technology equipment and maintain registers of the allocation of Information Technology resources
- Provide basic system administration to enable user creation and access requirements. Maintain IT assets to ensure hardware and software is correct and current
- Create user guides for self-help register/systems

**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in the Information Technology discipline, or working towards the completion of a qualification in IT, or equivalent experience
- Drivers License
- Familiarity with remote support tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Previous experience within Local Government is highly desirable
