Macquarie Geotechnical is a Geotechnical Consulting / Drilling & Construction Materials Testing company working on road, rail and mining infrastructure projects throughout Australia. We maintain a fleet of modern drill rigs, support equipment and tools that are at the forefront of the industry.
We are currently seeking Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists with 2-5 years' experience to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
* Undertaking geotechnical investigations, consisting of drilling rig supervision and undertaking test pitting.
* Geotechnical inspections consisting of proof roll, stripping and pile inspections.
* Assisting with geophysical investigations, includes seismic refraction, magnetic surveys, electrical resistivity, downhole imagery ATV/ OTV.
* Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, subcontractor, sub-consultants and clients.
* Preparation of factual reports.
To be successful for the position you must have the following experience:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/ Engineering Geology.
* Knowledge and experience using gINT and Holebase.
* Understanding of AS1726 requirements.
* Minimum 2 years site investigation experience.
* Ability to work within a team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Numerical, analytical and observation skills.
* Ability to problem solve.
* An interest in developing both technical and project management skills
* A current drivers licence.
