Located in the heart of Hahndorf, one of South Australia's most visited tourist destinations, The Haus Restaurant is a high volume hospitality venue operating seven days a week across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We deliver à la carte and counter service and operate a substantial functions, conferences and weddings portfolio. Our business is built on strong systems, disciplined leadership and a clear service success philosophy focused on consistency, quality and commercial performance.
Complementing the restaurant is The Haus Studios, a collection of 14 boutique studio apartments offering premium accommodation for visitors to the Adelaide Hills. Together, the restaurant and Haus Studios create a cohesive hospitality offering that supports strong tourism demand, repeat visitation and a high standard of guest experience across the Haus Group.
As the business continues to evolve, we are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead Front of House operations and take ownership of people leadership, service delivery and profitability.
The Role
Reporting to the Directors and Shareholders, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for total ownership of Front of House operations in a fast paced, high-capacity environment. This is a hands on leadership role requiring a strong floor presence, commercial acumen and the ability to lead large teams while maintaining service standards, compliance and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a large FOH structure
* Provide structured coaching, performance management, appraisals and disciplinary action where required
Oversee daily FOH operations across restaurant, bar and events
* Proactively manage guest feedback and online reviews, resolving issues professionally and protecting brand integrity
* Manage reservations, POS, rostering and communication systems to ensure operational efficiency
* Coordinate venue presentation, maintenance, cleanliness and FOH organisation
* Liaise with kitchen, events and marketing teams to deliver seamless service and promotional execution
* Control labour costs through accurate forecasting, rostering and payroll approvals
* Manage FOH COGS, stock control, ordering and stocktakes
* Analyse sales performance and implement strategies to drive revenue, margin and upselling
* Enforce WHS, RSA and licensing compliance across FOH operations
* Oversee incident reporting, audits, mandatory training and safety documentation
* Maintain a safe, compliant and well-documented workplace
Skills & Experience
* A relevant Diploma with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or a minimum of 3 years relevant hospitality management experience
* Proven experience managing high volume restaurant operations
* Strong leadership capability across large, diverse teams
* Sound financial literacy in labour cost control, COGS and sales analysis
* Experience managing conferences, functions and events
* Proficiency with POS, booking and rostering systems
* Current RSA and strong understanding of WHS obligations
* Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and peak trading periods
