This family-owned Australian company is seeking a Group Sales Manager to join their team in a permanent capacity. This group engages in trading a diverse range of wholesale and retail products and services across multiple industries.
**Your new role**
This company is seeking a highly competent and driven individual to develop and deliver the strategic sales plan to drive revenue, improve customer experience and mentor other sales leaders within the business.
This role is situated in Geelong and reports to the company Director. You will be required to liaise with relevant stakeholders with aim to acquire and strengthen business development opportunities and lead the Sales team effectively.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales and business development strategic plan for the Victorian and Tasmanian businesses within the Company.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic plan of the Company to achieve business objectives, drive profit and improve customer experience.
- Develop both short-term and long-term business plans. Review existing business plans quarterly and update annually.
- Develop new sales techniques for business growth and profitability.
- Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities and build strong relationships with existing customers.
- Research and identify new products and marketing strategies.
- Maintain an awareness of business-related trends, advances, and improvements.
- Maintain sound business relations with customers, trade groups, employees, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Form and maintain business relationships with key accounts and attend relevant industry events to strengthen trade relations and generate leads to increase sales volume.
- Investigate customer complaints and provide appropriate conflict resolution solutions.
**What you'll need to succeed**
Key skills and requirements include but not limited to:
- Proven experience in a Sales Management role or similar equivalent. Experience within the automotive, marine or industrial sectors is highly advantageous.
- Ability to travel interstate and as required to carry out specific position duties.
- Ability to coach, mentor and lead teams whilst presenting as a strong representative of the business.
- Be proactive by nature, self-motivated and commercially driven.
- Ability to translate the needs of customers and senior executive team into company action.
- People-focused, with a sound ability to develop rapport and strengthen suitable business relationships.
- Sound understanding of basic computer programs including Microsoft Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas and messaging to appropriate audiences.
- Strong delegation skills whilst managing and triaging competing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
