What we are looking for
The webMethods Integration Consultant is responsible for the design, build, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions across complex IT landscapes. This role enables seamless data flow between core business systems (e.g., SAP, CRM, external platforms) by establishing scalable, secure, and maintainable integration frameworks. Operating within transformation programs, the consultant works with business and technical teams to ensure integrations are technically sound and aligned to optimised business processes. The focus is on delivering resilient integration solutions that support long-term scalability, not just point-to-point connectivity.
Responsibilities
* Design end-to-end integration solutions using Software AG webMethods.
* Define integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven) aligned to business requirements.
* Develop scalable and reusable integration frameworks, avoiding fragmented point-to-point solutions.
* Contribute to overall integration strategy, including API-led and service-oriented approaches.
Development & Configuration
* Build and configure integrations using:
o Integration Server (IS)
o webMethods Designer
o Universal Messaging / Broker
* Develop:
o Services (Flow / Java)
o Mappings and transformations
o Adapters and connectors
* Ensure adherence to development standards, naming conventions, and version control practices.
System Integration & Data Flow Enablement
* Integrate core enterprise systems including:
o SAP (ECC / S/4HANA)
o CRM, HRIS, Financial systems
o External third-party platforms and APIs
* Design and implement:
o Inbound and outbound interfaces
o Real-time and batch integrations
* Ensure data integrity, consistency, and traceability across systems.
Environment Setup & Migration
* Support setup and configuration of webMethods environments across Dev, Test, and Production.
* Migrate:
o Integration packages
o Configurations and dependencies
o Schemas and interface structures
* Prepare environments for endpoint repointing and system cutovers.
Testing, Deployment & Support
* Lead and support:
o Unit Testing
o System Integration Testing (SIT)
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
* Troubleshoot integration issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
* Support deployment activities and post-go-live stabilisation.
Security, Governance & Compliance
* Implement and manage:
o Certificates and credentials
* Ensure integrations comply with enterprise security and governance standards.
* Maintain auditability and logging across all integration flows.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
* Produce and maintain:
o Interface specifications
o Deployment and support guides
* Contribute to a structured integration repository for long-term maintainability.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
* Work closely with:
o Solution Architects
o SAP Functional and Technical teams
o Business stakeholders
* Translate business requirements into integration solutions.
* Provide clear communication on integration design, risks, and dependencies.
Qualifications & Experience
* 4–7+ years of experience with Software AG webMethods.
* Strong hands-on experience with:
o Integration Server (IS)
o webMethods Designer
o Flow and Java services
o Messaging (Universal Messaging / Broker) and API integrations
* Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions.
* Strong understanding of event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
* Experience integrating with SAP ECC or S/4HANA is highly desirable.
