Permanent Part Time Hours

About The Role
The successful applicant will have FRACS and be prepared to work across the range of urological surgery. The role will be responsible for urgent and immediate backfill to roster vacancies, including outpatient clinics, operating theatre sessions as well as ward rounds. The applicant will be expected to assist in the Urology on-call roster. The role will also have a supervisory role over junior medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
The Urology Surgeon performs a key role in service provision at the hospital. They are involved in day-to-day management of the urological surgical patients. This will require management of emergency and elective theatre lists, leading junior team members, involvement in audits, and the provision of surgical education and training to junior surgeons and medical students.

* Deliver urology care through operating sessions, clinics, ward rounds and on-call duties
* Manage new and follow-up urology patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
* Comply with GH policies, infection control, confidentiality and risk management standards
* Provide inclusive, patient-centred care aligned with Grampians Health values

Skills & Experience

* Medical practitioner eligible for specialist registration in General Surgery
* Demonstrated expertise in elective and emergency general surgical care
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and current surgical practice
* Strong analytical skills to assess data, set priorities and report effectively
* Ability to teach, mentor and support medical staff and students
* Excellent communication, teamwork and responsible resource management
