About the Role
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
We are looking to fill 1 permanent part time position; you must be available for the following:
Week 1
Monday 7am to 3pm
Week 2
Monday 3pm to 7am (sleepover)
Tuesday 3pm to 7am (sleepover)
Saturday 7am to 3pm

Key Responsibilities
Support a client living with mental health challenges and requiring behaviour support
Follow and adapt to behaviour support plan including restrictive practices
Advocate for client choice, expression, and active daily engagement
Actively participate in client hobbies including fishing, bike riding and sports (big tick if you are a Newcastle Knights fan)
Encourage and facilitate community access
Assistance with medication and mealtimes
Availability for sleepover shifts is
essential
Skills & Experience
Strong background in mental health supports
Ability to implement positive behaviour support strategies
An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Pay rates starting from $***** (part time) as per the SCHADS Award
