We are seeking new team members to assist with monitoring field operations and planning related to native timber operations authorized by the state.If you are a self-starter, comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and enjoy getting things done, this role is suited to you.We are offering temporary and permanent roles across various locations. Submit your application to be considered for future AO4 roles within our timber team for Queensland Forestry.Find purpose, see impact, and bring a legacy to life for the future of Queensland.Continuous Applicant Pool - Various locationsOur Senior Forest Rangers work extensively with clients, stakeholders, and other agencies, using their initiative, problem-solving skills, and technology to deliver operational programs and outcomes. Staff follow policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and legislative obligations.The key duties include tracking permittees and their contractors' performance against sales permits, coordinating daily operations such as lessee engagement, log measurement, log measurer accreditation, tree selection assessments, and other operational activities.A typical week involves, but is not limited to, the following activities:Planning weekly activities in consultation with team members and supervisors.Preparing relevant documents and maps for tasks.Undertaking safety preparations, including weekly itinerary, vehicle inspections, and safety equipment.Traveling by 4WD to forest operation areas, which may involve over four hours of driving.Setting up camp, including unloading heavy equipment.Walking long distances on uneven terrain in challenging weather conditions, sometimes carrying up to 10kg of equipment.Occasionally camping in basic conditions, sometimes up to 6 hours away from the nearest town.Our office locations are spread throughout Queensland in key townships supporting timber resource areas, including Toowoomba, Injune, Mitchell, Maryborough, Mundubbera, Monto, Rockhampton, and Cairns.Review our "Day in the Life of a Senior Forest Ranger" and the role description for more details.Apply once to be considered for current and future AO4 roles in our timber teams.
